How do your door & window sensors detect open/close status?

Our sensors use magnetic contact technology. When the magnet and sensor are within 5 mm of each other, the sensor registers closed; separation beyond this triggers an open status.

What wireless protocol and security are supported?

Our door and window sensors communicate wirelessly over the EnOcean protocol and support AES-128 encryption in secure mode for encrypted communication with compatible receivers.

How do I install the sensor and magnet correctly?

Installation can be done with adhesive pads or screws. The sensor mounts on the fixed frame, and the magnet on the moving part (door or window), ensuring they remain within ~5 mm of each other when closed.

How long does the battery last?

With typical use and appropriate ambient light, the battery back-up is rated for up to approximately 10 years, though actual life depends on light conditions and usage patterns.

What data frequency and reporting behaviour should I expect?

Pressac door and window sensors report open/close status changes instantly. However, they also transmit periodic status updates (e.g., every ~15 minutes) to maintain connection health.

What environmental conditions do these sensors support?

The operating range of our wireless door and window sensors is typically -20°C to +60°C, making them suitable for most indoor applications.

Are these sensors interoperable with other manufacturers’ EnOcean systems?

Yes. Because they use the EnOcean standard and have an EnOcean Equipment Profile (EEP D5-00-01), they are compatible with other EnOcean-compliant receivers and controllers.
