Job purpose
We’re seeking an Electronic Assembly Process Engineer to help us implement and maintain process control in all aspects of the electronic PCB assembly process.
Specific duties
- Define and maintain process standards
- Recommend and implement process improvements
- Carry out process audits
- Provide day to day assistance within the assembly areas
- Report writing and proposals
- Involvement in equipment specification
- Report writing and proposals

Qualifications and knowledge
- HNC in Electronics or relevant experience
- ONC in production engineering or relevant subject such as mechanical engineering or equivalent qualification
- Safety conscious with knowledge of health and Safety legislation
- IPC J-STD-001 trained
- Familiar in inspecting PCBs and rework to IPC-7711/21 standards
- Thorough knowledge of electronic assembly processes and the equipment used such as Wave and Selective soldering and SMT
- Experience of Industrial Engineering e.g. Takt Times and maintaining the company data base
- Structuring and producing process documentation e.g. WI’s
- Experience in Process Engineering
Skills and experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an electronic assembly environment
- Logical and systematic approach to problem solving
- Able to liaise technically with external suppliers/internal customers
- Flexible and co-operative approach
- Team player, reliable and able to work on own initiative
- Familiar working with ERP systems
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Good IT skills
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Capacity to thrive in a demanding and dynamic environment to meet deadlines.
- Design the process flow considering Health and Safety
- Knowledge of Automation
- Familiar with MSDS and COSHH
