Job purpose

We’re seeking an Electronic Assembly Process Engineer to help us implement and maintain process control in all aspects of the electronic PCB assembly process.

Specific duties

  • Define and maintain process standards.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements.
  • Carry out process audits.
  • Report writing and proposals.
  • Involvement in equipment specification.
  • Ensure process audits are carried out in a timely manner.

Qualifications and knowledge

  • HNC in Electronics or relevant experience.
  • IPC J-STD-001 trained.
  • Familiar in inspecting PCBs and rework to IPC-7711/21 standards.
  • Thorough knowledge of electronic assembly processes and the equipment used such as wave and selective soldering and SMT.
  • Experience of Industrial Engineering e.g. Takt Times and maintaining the company data base.
  • Structuring and producing process documentation e.g. WI’s.
  • Experience in Process Engineering.

Skills and experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an electronic assembly environment.
  • Logical and systematic approach to problem solving.
  • Able to liaise technically with external suppliers/internal customers.
  • Flexible and co-operative approach.
  • Reliable and able to work on own initiative.
  • Familiar working with ERP systems.
  • Design the process flow considering Health and Safety.
  • Knowledge of Automation.
  • Familiar with MSDS and COSHH.
