Quality Engineer

Starting salary from £30,000pa depending on experience

39 hours a week (8.30 to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30 to 4pm Friday)

Reporting to the Quality and Environmental Manager, an experienced Quality Engineer is required to occupy a varied and interesting role; and will be expected to support and improve all aspects of the quality and environmental management system, including such duties as:

  • Perform internal audits
  • Follow up issues raised during audits
  • Verify validity of British standards
  • Collate and analyse monthly management system performance data
  • Collate and analyse process performance data
  • Ensure test and measuring equipment is calibrated
  • Assist with following up DMR’s (Defective Material Reports)
  • Ensure 8D reports are raised, and actioned, in response to relevant issues
  • Assist with amending and distributing management system documents
  • Assist with certifying body visits (both in preparation and on the day)

Key requirements

Essential

  • A minimum of 3 years’ previous experience in a comparable role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Formal auditor training (preferably lead auditor level)
  • Good understanding of the latest versions of ISO9001 and 14001
  • High level of capability in Microsoft Office
  • Very structured approach
  • Excellent communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience of electronics
  • Knowledge of business continuity (particularly ISO22301)
  • Good working knowledge of conducting FMEA’s

  • Be able to travel within the UK on an occasional basis
